BONGO FEVER

Bongos and congas are brother/sister instruments, and many bongoseros double on congas and vice-versa, so it only makes sense that CongaPlace.com would have great information on bongo drumming.

The Bongo Book is in the Percussion Book section of the site, and it contains pages with brief, concise information on bongo history and a short list of notable bongoseros, as well as how-to information on playing the martillo (with examples of variations and fills).

There is also an online store where you can order instructional book/CDs, as well as bongos made by Latin Percussion, Pearl and Remo.

While the Conga Place covers bongos, it is mainly about the congas. That said, it’s a great site for the online percussion community-at-large, regardless of instrument. Check it out!
