David Romero is the bongo/conga player for Earth, Wind and Fire, among others. He has an instructional DVD that you can order via his web site.

Learning from a video is better than learning from a book or CD alone, mainly because multiple senses are engaged simultaneously. I love the way David breaks things down into digestible parts while emphasizing the flow.
The DVD is targeted towards beginning bongo students, but I’m sure all levels can learn from this great player.
